hiii people....sometime back, i read an article on one of the blogs which was written by a ceo of a small software company...frankly, i did not realise that a CEO of a small software company blogs...anyway, this lead to an interesting thought for me, being in India...i was just thinking abt how western countries, especially USA, felt abt outsourcing...as some of you might be knowing, outsourcing constitutes a major part of income for india and it has in fact funded the growth of the upper middle class of people...
i read a lot that there are many people who fear that there might be loss of jobs and i in fact , read that some states in usa are in process of banning outsourcing of government projects....but why is this being done?? if countries start placing restrictions on what they want to export and what they dont want(let us consider software to be a commodity which is being exported by USA), then what happens to the international community?? i am sure, USA buys a lot of stuff from india and also sells a lot of its stuff in india...
so, what if india bans all exports and imports from USA...and what if each country become jingoistic like this and starts banning all its imports and exports to a particular country just cos it does not like it??
today, it is a race for survival...it is a world where only the fittest will survive....so if u can do something with better quality and a better price, people are going to come to u...well, as of now, people in USA cannot seem to provide software consultancy at a cheaper rate and better quality than indians...but i am sure there are lot of things in which the americans can provide better quality and cheaper price than indians....electronics for example...and most of the software products come from usa thru microsoft, ibm etc...
so it is all a matter of survival....few things, indians provide at a cheaper rate and better quality...few things, the americans provide at a cheaper rate and better quality...for that, indians cannot complain that we are losing jobs, can we?? we are losing a lot of electronics jobs cos we cannot compete with the americans and japanese as of now...so do we sit and cry for that?? we just try and adapt to that or try and find how we can provide the same thing at a cheaper rate and better quality...thats how u survive....
in the same article that i read, the ceo was complaining that he was having a lot of work but not enough people to do it...simple solution, outsource....u get ur work done and also u save money...
